BELIEVE IT!

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

I’m a fan of Naruto like the next anime geek.  And as every anime geek knows, American distributors of anime lack the ability to dub anime properly.  Which brings me to the title today.  My friend Andy has always made jokes about how Naruto always says BELIEVE IT! after just about every sentence.  Since I watch it subbed I had no idea what he was talking about.  I have yet to watch a dubbed version of Naruto and never will.  However, I had gotten the Naruto game for the Gamecube not long ago and decided to play it the other day with Andy and Suzi.  It still cracks me up how dumb the dubbers are.  He seriously does say BELIEVE IT after everything, Quite annoying. Funny, but annoying.  I can’t BELIEVE IT how retarded it is.  Reminds me how bad the dubbing is for One Piece, my all time favorite show.  Sanji doesn’t smoke he chews on a toothpick, smoker doesn’t smoke, he has something else, and isn’t named smoker.  The voices are terrible just like Naruto and just about every dubbed anime.  I say just about because there is that rare occasion where the dubbing isn’t that bad.  I think Cowboy bebop is one of them, although I still prefer the Japanese version better, they just have more emotion.  Anyways.. BELIEVE IT!

Gotcha! As you may have guessed yesterdays post was a hoax. I very lame one, but 10:30 was the earliest I could even think about something other than school work. I did in fact fool at least one person. Oreo called me soon after I posted it and was like, “WTF!” I guess it was at least a partial success. Those who know me would never think I would change from Engineering. However, I couldn’t think of anything else to do. So a late April Fools!

On another note, some of you already know I’m dating again. I really didn’t expect to be so soon, by soon I mean before I graduated. But when you found someone who you feel is a good match and when you hurt that person and she still comes back, it tells you something. I’ve been friends with her since before high school, we lost touch for a long time, but got back together on a regular basis the beginning of this semester. Now most people say we are totally different from each other. Which is completely true, although for some reason we get each other. Finish sentences, laugh at each other’s lame jokes, call each other out on our devious plans. So finally Leslie and I decided to go out. So far it’s going great, doesn’t seem much different than when we wern’t going out, and thats a good thing. So wish us luck. =)

Drama: Coming from the Greek word “Action” drawn from the (Classical Greek δρᾶν), “to do.”

The full definition:

dra·ma (drä’mÉ™, drăm’É™)
n.

  • A prose or verse composition, especially one telling a serious story, that is intended for representation by actors impersonating the characters and performing the dialogue and action.
  • A serious narrative work or program for television, radio, or the cinema.
  • Theatrical plays of a particular kind or period: Elizabethan drama.
  • The art or practice of writing or producing dramatic works.
  • A situation or succession of events in real life having the dramatic progression or emotional effect characteristic of a play: the drama of the prisoner’s escape and recapture.
  • The quality or condition of being dramatic: a summit meeting full of drama.
I will be talking primarily about real life situations. Lately I’ve been involved in some dramatized situations with friends. I try not to get into them because I just really hate drama. However, with the way my brain works, words and stuff spew from my mouth before its processed fully by my brain which ends up getting me into trouble. This is usually true for when I’m talking to a girl more than guys. This isn’t directed towards anyone just kind of a realization I have, and what I think about situations that include drama.

Most of the drama I have had lately is more to do with friends, specifically because I’m single. Now, when I think of a friend, I think of someone you can talk to about anything, say anything to, and be stupid and they will still be your friend, to an extent. When a friend gets hurt by another friend, it does hurt, because your their friend and to be hurt by someone you feel you shouldn’t be hurt by, well hurts. The most important thing about being friends with someone is forgiveness. This forgiveness may some right away with a slap on the back, or may take weeks of not talking to them. The most important thing about forgiveness is that the one who hurt you knows they hurt you. This knowledge doesn’t make anyone feel better, however once someone realizes they hurt you and they truly are your friend, they will admit they did something wrong, and apologize. A sincere apology is about the only thing a friend can do for another friend who has been hurt. However, that’s what friendship is for, forgiveness. If you truly believe someone is your friend and was hurt by them, and they understand they hurt you and apologize, then that should be all that is required to make it all better.

This is by no means true to everyone, but it should be. I personally take this approach to my friends. If I’m hurt by anything someone else does or says, as long as they apologize and realize is hurt or upset me, then I can shrug it off. “Hey, no biggie thanks!” Life goes on. There are situations where that friend refuses to recognize their hurtful actions/words or apologize; in that case they were never truly your friend and its best to just let them go. Again life goes on, more friends will be found.

To all my friends reading this, I will always be your friend unless you do not apologize or recognize I was hurt and thus I will do the same, its all I require in a friendship. Because that’s what it’s called, Friendship.
