Epic comics need epic movies right? I guess they didn’t get that memo when they did Spider-Man 3. Seriously I felt a little dead inside after watching that last night. I went with Leslie to the 12:03 showing. We meet Phil and Joel there as well. Anyways, it started out right, it seemed to be like any of the other 2 movies; women screaming, weird bad guys, cool action shots. Then Emo happened. It killed it soo much. BTW I’m going to spoil it a bit here so don’t read further if you don’t want to know.

Once that black shit from the asteroid got on him, he turned super emo and got very annoying. There was some gay dancing and showing off. After he decided to end his emo fit, it got a little better, but the end just dragged on. Not to mention he got his ass handed to him and be saved by his scared little buddy. I did like the fight between Peter and Harry and also kinda liked the one emo fight in the mansion.

Anyways, I can’t recommend anyone spending 7 bucks to see this in the theater, wait to see it on DVD.

300 in red

Just got back from watching the midnight showing of 300. Going into the movie I had no idea what to expect because I hadn’t heard anything about it. However, a bunch of friends of mine convinced me to go.

First thing I noticed right off the bad was the clothing, or lack there of. Almost every character in the movie had about 1/3rd of their bodies covered or less. Most of the men were wearing leather underwear and a cape. I’m sure the women will like at least that aspect, mostly because every actor in the movie was built. Ripped stomachs and huge pecks. All the women in the movie were very trim as well. You will also notice during the first few scenes of the movie that the director liked breasts, he flaunted them from the start. Just about every woman had THO going on, and in 2 scenes in a row there were a few topless. There was also a very interesting sex scene, nice and graphic what everyone likes.

The cinematography was excellent, the colors, lighting, everything was excellent. The director really knew what he was doing. Also, the choreography was very excellent, the moves were well thought out.

There were a few things that I did not like all that much. First the CG blood got to me after a while. It just didn’t look right, reminded me of recent movie Kung Pow, they had a bunch of CG blood and was very cheezy, although it was supposed to be cheezy. Also the guy who played the king had a weird jaw, and would talk almost as if he was trying to look like a cow chew’n it’s cud. Best analogy I’ve got.

Other than that, a great movie worth seeing on the big screen. Some good humor mixed into the utter blood bath as well.

First off, anyone who knows me knows I’m not a racist person. Hell, I dated a black girl (Jessica) for 2 years+, so that entitles me to say this I think. Most of you know me and Jessica are on good terms again and are still very good friends. Last night both of us were bored and decided it would be cool to go see a movie. We thought it was a good idea, although the location at which we choose to see the movie was kinda bust. We choose to go to Nova theaters (previously Landmark) for the sheer fact that they are cheap. Here’s were it went wrong.

We pull up into the parking lot and see a fairly large crowed, figured there was a new movie out, and there was, comic value will come soon. As we get inside, I might as well have been a white seed in dirt covered it up. Other then the help, I was pretty much the only white guy there. This is the point where we probably should have been worried. After sitting down it looked as if things were gonna settle down, yeah right. Right as the movie starts a bunch of, shall we say energetic folk, a hell ghetto ass hos, strolled in. Not only were they loud yelling across the theater to other ghetto hos, they were answer’n their phone and talk’n nice and loud. I turned around several times and told them to shut up, but it would only last a few mins . If that wasn’t bad, we had a bunch of more kids go in and out of the theater. No they wern’t getting popcorn, they were going in to yell at someone else in the theater then turn around and walk out. I don’t think I’ve ever come across a theater this bad. When we went to talk to the manager, he said he wasn’t gonna do anything about it except for give our money back. WTF, grow some balls. We got our money and left. Normally I say stereotypes are bad, but for some reason black people make them true oh too often.

Here’s where the comic, guess what movie EVERYONE went to see? Hmmm HMMMM.. Yeah, its BLACK Christmas. Never even heard of it. Must only be advertised on BET ;-). Elvis said it best, “In the ghetttoooooooo.”
