This week is a week of laziness and returned tests. Spent quite a bit of time playing RF Online, its a pretty nice game. The quest system has it’s good and bad parts. The fighting system is pretty standard. What is nice is the macro system, which I really haven’t done much with cept setup auto potions, so I don’t have to remember to drink’m.
But I digress. I got my programming test back, got an A like i suspected. I should have gotten a higher A, but an A’s an A right? However, got my calc test back, got a 73 as i suspected I would get, however he curved so i got a B insted. I know I shouldn’t complain, but I’m going to. This jackass really erks me off. I lost 4 points because I didn’t put information down that the problem didn’t state to put on there, WTF? I also lost a bunch of points because I had the correct information down, but apparently i didn’t put the correct correct information down.. What a fuck, most teachers if you have the correct answers down but you have one extra and don’t specify, they might take 1 point of, now this ass whole takes almost 1/2 the points off. Now my grade wasn’t all his fault. I punched some stuff into my calc and wrote it down w/o thinking, even though i did think about it, but at the time my thought was that it was correct. Which it was not, and when i got it back i was like, WTF you stupid fuck what the fuck is your problem, are you stupid or something? Uggh so pissed at him and myself. I’ll be glad when this semester is over and I can look to brighter and better classes.

So I’m sitting here, not able to sleep, thinking about how could that test have gone better. You know, as many if not everyone knows, standard tests are balls when it comes to testing your knowledge on a subject. I’m living proof of that. I can teach people about said subject, but I will fail a test hands down. I have narrowed down my failure to one simple thing. I cannot catch mistakes while taking the test. However after the test, they poke out like sore thumbs. Yeah, so their’s ink marking said mistake, but I generally look at it and i’m like, OMG WTF, your so dumb how could you do that. Many times its as simple as not copying something down right from part A to part B, or I completely fubar it, and i look at it and am amazing how i couldn’t have caught that. So why don’t more teachers allow students to go over their tests after the test, correct mistakes and let the teacher check it again. Maybe not even mark it, maybe a day later give the test again for a fraction of the time, just enough to check it over for mistakes again with a fresh look. I mean, how many times have you heard people say, walk away and come back later and you’ll see your problem. Same with everything, why can’t you do that with a test? Some people, like me, just can’t see their errors right away. Grawww! Just upsets me.

What I’ve always been saying is true. Â The harder it is, the easier it is for me. Â We’ve been doing Electrostatics the last 3 weeks or so in physics and has been pretty tough. Â Mostly because a lot of the work is setting up integrals and working with lots of trig. Â I suck at trig hard core, so its pretty tough for me. Â However, taking my physics test last Tuesday, I actually thought I knew what i was doing. Â Got it back Friday, sure enough I did: 94.5% baby! Â I was floored when I saw it. Â Some of the mistakes i made were simple stupid mistakes as normal, but this time they didn’t dominate the test. Â Now if I could do that on my next Calc test. So all i can say is WHOLY BALLS!

I’m a fan of Naruto like the next anime geek. Â And as every anime geek knows, American distributors of anime lack the ability to dub anime properly. Â Which brings me to the title today. Â My friend Andy has always made jokes about how Naruto always says BELIEVE IT! after just about every sentence. Â Since I watch it subbed I had no idea what he was talking about. Â I have yet to watch a dubbed version of Naruto and never will. Â However, I had gotten the Naruto game for the Gamecube not long ago and decided to play it the other day with Andy and Suzi. Â It still cracks me up how dumb the dubbers are. Â He seriously does say BELIEVE IT after everything, Quite annoying. Funny, but annoying. Â I can’t BELIEVE IT how retarded it is. Â Reminds me how bad the dubbing is for One Piece, my all time favorite show. Â Sanji doesn’t smoke he chews on a toothpick, smoker doesn’t smoke, he has something else, and isn’t named smoker. Â The voices are terrible just like Naruto and just about every dubbed anime. Â I say just about because there is that rare occasion where the dubbing isn’t that bad. Â I think Cowboy bebop is one of them, although I still prefer the Japanese version better, they just have more emotion. Â Anyways.. BELIEVE IT!

I struggled a whole day getting bind to work properly after looking at 50 how-to’s and 100 some odd forum posts I got it to work. Â Kinda silly it took this much work to get it working. Â *shrug*
- Install bind: sudo apt-get install bind9
- Generate a new key (why the default one dosn’t work, but i couldn’t ever get it to):Â sudo rndc-confgen -a -b 128 -r keyboard
- Copy the output into a file or just to your clipboard.
- Open your named.conf, in it (probably very top would  be best) enter the info from the previous output.
- Example: key “rndc-key” {
// how was key encoded
algorithm hmac-md5;
// what is the pass-phrase for the key
secret “<your special key>” ;
};
- Now you should create a rndc.conf file, it should look like this: options {
// what host should rndc attempt to control by default
default-server localhost;
// and what key should it use to communicate with named
default-key “rndc-key”;
};server localhost {
// always use this key with this host
key “rndc-key”;
};
- key “rndc-key” {
// how was the key encoded
algorithm hmac-md5;
// what’s the password
secret “<your special key>”;
};Check and make sure you have a rndc.key file, it should look like this:Â key “rndc-key” {
algorithm hmac-md5;
secret “<your special key>”;
};
- Now everything should work, just setup your databases and give it a try. Â Let me know if it dosn’t work, I’ll see if Ileft something out

This post is labeled as such because that’s probably my most spoken word the last few weeks. Started last week with study’n about 10 - 15 hrs on calculus. I really really wanted a good grade to offset my first shit grade. Took the test, and had 2 quizzes to study for after that. Then had a nice break in p-town with friends I rarely see cause I’m always down here. Then studied physics when I got back for say 6 hours. Didn’t finish of course.
We now start the latest week of Fuck. Went to sign up for classes Monday, checked my account and noticed something funny. I went to see the busars office about my account and their like, yeah you owe this much blah blah blah. I’m like, my loans should take care of that. Apparently they didn’t, cause I didn’t do something that I didn’t realize I had to do and the fin aid office didn’t bother notify’n me that I hadn’t gotten this done. After 4 hours of trying to complete this “little thing” I was on my way to get my loans again, so I had to put the amount I owed on my card so I could reg for classes.  Got my classes all setup, which is good. No friday classes w00t for that.
So why is this week so “Fucked” well, here it is. So far I’ve been doing physics homework for about 12 hours, i have gotten 5 questions completed. I also got my Calc test (see first paragraph for irony). This isn’t my first time taking this class, nor did I have a problem understanding the material last semester or this semester, I know it quite well. However, even with this being my 2nd time taking the class and the 10 - 15 hrs of study’n, i got a 73 on the test.. WTF! I’m getting a D in the class. I’m seriously pissed. This means many things. One, study’n that much = worthless. Two, my teacher is a fuck head cause the problems I missed were problems that I was only maybe 1 number off, but got nothing for partial cause all the questions i missed were multiuple choice and true/false.  The other caviate was that it was a GROUP test. One other guy and I did the test. We were catching each other’s mistakes, but it sure didn’t help obviously.  Had this been any other professor, I probably would have gotten a B or so on that test. Just pisses me off.  I try so hard for this fucking class and get nothing but crap.  So FUCK!

Towards the end of summer I sent my laptop in for service. One the Ethernet port had been jacked up cause its really fragile (not something I’m happy about). And two the screen was kinda fubar. It looked as if I was going to pull the screen off when i opened and closed the screen. But when I got it back, only the Ethernet port was fixed. I was just happy to get my laptop back I didn’t bother with it any more. Low and behold that problem manifested itself into an actual problem. The screen would literally stretch past the bottom of the screen when I opened it or touched it just right. So I sent it in again, this time the screen was fixed, but now whenever I suspend the tablet, the keyboard no longer works until I completely shut it down, a reboot does not restore the keyboard. Was on the phone with support for almost an hour. Not much to do after everything I did already before calling. We updated the bios, no help. Their sending me a replacement keyboard, but honestly, I doubt this will fix it. It’s gotta be the main board for some reason, but why is beyond me. All they did is replace the screen, why would that have fucked up the main board, unless they jabbed it with a screwdriver. Which is possible.
Well, while in the middle of writing this post I had physics class. We got our tests back, there was a double bell curve, at one end were D’s at the other end were B’s. You can guess where I was.
Anyways, I had a revelation. As I was packing up after class I hit my caps lock key and the light came on. I was like, woah! So when I got back to work I tried it and sure enough it didn’t work. I was like what the hell. I figured it had to be length of time being on. That’s then the revelation hit. While I was on the phone with the tech guy, I put the top in hibernation mode and then brought it back out. It gave a stuck key error and wouldn’t go any further. It made us (me and the tech guy) that it was a keyboard for some reason or another. Then I noticed the Esc key on my LCD assembly was kinda sunken in. Whadda ya know, the key was stuck, low and behold once I “unstuck” it everything started working again. Who knew that the LCD buttons and the keyboard were linked. I figured it was probably a proprietary connection though serial or USB, but I guess now that I think about it makes sense. At least the tablet catastrophe is over and I can be at some what peace.

Last Thursday I took my CS312 midterm test. This test was so simple a monkey could probably get at least a B. Even though I got every question almost perfectly there was one question which for one reason or another put me in another demention in which one minute = one hour. This along with being completely high or something cost me 10% of my grade. So instead of 97% I got 87%. I guess I should be used to this by now. Its the reason why I’m a C student and not a A-B student. I always look over some dumb ass mistake. What’s worse, after I was done with the test, about 10 minutes, I spent another 20 minutes looking over each problem making sure I didn’t make any mistakes. I guess I was in dimension X the whole time cause I didn’t catch it the 4 times I went over the problem. *sigh*

If ever someone mentions that you shouldn’t touch any sensitive part of your body after handling a peper, especially a hot one, you should listen to them. Which I did, for a while. However, when you start doing 5 things at once, those memories get blured a bit and tend to forget. Well while making my Sweet and Spicy Hawaiian Chili, I kinda forgot I cut up a habenjero pepper and then touched “near” my eye. Yeah, yeah wrong move eh? Well, I didn’t actually touch my eye but when I realized I touched near it I rushed to flush my eye out. So I washed my hands with soap and water real good. Then ran soap and water over the affected area. Yeah really should have thought that though, the fire and pain followed soon after. I rushed to my bathroom and blindly pulled out my contacts after washing my hands yet again, that was yet more pain. After frantically getting my contacts out, they needed to be replaced anyways, I proceeded to gush water in my eyes. This went on for, oh, 5 mins. After which I felt a little better, but they still burned. Went in to the kitchen and got ice. You can’t imagine how good the ice felt. It soon subsided, but wow was that an experience I only wish on my enemies.
For those who would like my open source Sweet and Spicy Hawaiian Chilly (Leslie would call it death chili), its as followed (amount relative to size of pot):
- 5 or so cans of black beans (I used bushes)
- 2 cans of tomato sauce
- 2Â sweet onions (saluted)
- 2 green peppers (saluted)
- 1 habenjero
- < 2ish lbs of 99% fat free ground turkey (I think I ended with about 1/2 or so lbs left over)
- Can of sweet corn
- 3 packets of Chili powder stuff
- 3 tomatos diced
- 1/2 a pineapple diced
- Lots of garlic (I think I used 2 teaspoons of minced)
Mix it all together and let simmer for a few hrs. Everyone said they loved it.
Its open source so I’ll give credit where credit is due. My recipe was based off of Kristen Hamilton’s recipe. Modified heavily though. If you find this recipe good let me know, if you make modifications to it, please give credit to me in some way and send me your updates so I can try it for myself!
